WHAT IS ECO TUNING?
ECO Tuning — also called ECO chip tuning or fuel optimisation — is a professional adjustment of the engine control unit software with the aim of reducing fuel consumption in real driving. Unlike performance tuning, the focus here is not on maximum power but on efficient, economical engine operation in everyday use.
Injection Optimised
The injection quantity and injection timing are more precisely matched to the actual load range. The engine burns fuel more completely — less soot, less consumption.
Boost Pressure Adjusted
The turbocharger operates more gently and evenly in everyday conditions. Unnecessary pressure peaks are eliminated — protecting components and reducing fuel demand at part load.
Torque Curve Linearised
More torque at low revs means driving in higher gears — the engine runs more calmly, gear changes are reduced and consumption drops noticeably.
ECU Recalibrated
All parameters — injection, ignition, EGR, boost pressure control — are harmonised. The result is an engine that works as efficiently as possible in everyday use.
Near-Standard Calibration
ECO Tuning deliberately stays within the mechanical tolerances of the engine. No extreme values, no extra stress — just smarter use of existing potential.
Reversible at Any Time

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does ECO Tuning really work — or is it just marketing?
ECO Tuning is based on the same tools as professional chip tuning — just with a different goal. Instead of maximum power, the injection map is calibrated for more economical operation. The result is measurable: the engine works more efficiently in the frequently used part-load range. How much is saved depends on the vehicle, driving profile and the initial state of the ECU.
Is ECO Tuning safe for my engine?
Yes. ECO Tuning is deliberately calibrated within the mechanical limits of the engine. No extreme values are set that would stress the engine. On the contrary: an engine running at its optimal operating point is actually less stressed in part-load operation than with factory settings.
Can I go back to the original calibration afterwards?
Yes, always. Before every session, the original ECU software is completely backed up. The ECO map can be replaced with the original data at any time — without any trace, without any lasting change to the vehicle.
Does ECO Tuning also work with petrol engines?
The greatest effect is seen with diesel engines, as these offer the greatest optimisation potential in the part-load range by design. For petrol engines we generally recommend Stage 1 tuning, which also provides noticeably better performance output in everyday use.
How long does ECO Tuning take?
The entire process — read out, calibrate, install — typically takes 60 to 90 minutes. No workshop stay required.
